Hey everyone! Here is another review of the Ole Henriksen 'Pure Truth Melting Cleanser.' I have used this product for a few months, and I know you can hardly tell, but it is almost completely gone. Just incase you're new around here (welcome!); my skin type is combination, non-sensitive, with mild congestion and dehydration (sounds fun eh?). I am also in my early 30's, trying to preserve all I can.
As usual, I will give you a break down of the product information, claims, ingredients, and my personal experience. I am not a skin care "guru", just a gal purchasing products with her own money and sharing how I felt about them. Hope you find this helpful in some way!

Price: C$42.00 (*For 4 oz; this was a 1oz jar that I can no longer find on Sephora's site)
Size: 4 oz (1 oz shown in picture)
Claims: Can be used to remove waterproof and long lasting makeup. Hydrating, brightening, repairing, nourishing. Leaves skin clean, luminous, radiant, refreshed and healthy looking.
Free of: Parabens, sulfates, phthalates.

How to use it?
Using dry hands, massage the geleé into dry skin (it will melt into an oil). Add water and it will emulsify into a milk. Rinse clean.
Ingredients: Ethylhexyl Palmitate, Water, Prunus Amygdalus Dulcis (Sweet Almond) Oil, Glycerin, Sucrose Laurate, Olea Europaea (Olive) Fruit Oil, Tocopheryl Acetate, Citrus Limon (Lemon) Peel Oil, Linum Usitatissimum (Linseed) Seed Oil, Prunus Avium (Sweet Cherry) Seed Oil, Prunus Cerasus (Bitter Cherry) Seed Oil, Rosa Canina Fruit Oil, Oryza Sativa (Rice) Extract, Xanthan Gum, Retinyl Palmitate, Hydroxyethylcellulose, Ascorbyl Tetraisopalmitate, Limonene, Citral, Annatto (CI 75120).
Good ingredients?
Glycerin - skin-identical and skin-repairing ingredient, helps maintain the outer barrier and prevent dryness.
Tocopheryl Acetate - Vitamin E; antioxidant, skin healing
Ascorbyl Tetraisopalmitate - Vitamin C; increases collagen production, reduces skin discolouration, reduces inflammation, helps repair skin barrier
Retinyl Palmitate - Combination of retinol (pure vitamin A) and palmitic acid, antioxidant, and skin cell regulator
Other various oils (cherry, rose hip, etc) rich in omegas, antioxidants.
Anything to be concerned about? Lemon oil may be an irritant to sensitive skin. Additionally, both limonene and citral function as fragrances in this product (can cause irritation, however it is low on the ingredient list, making the concentration in this product minimal).

* Note: I did test this to remove makeup and it does a fair job. However, I always remove my makeup first with my Bioderma and then cleanse.
Pros?
- Light citrus scent (did not irritate my skin)
- Gentle while massaging into my skin
- Leaves my skin hydrated and moisturized
- Non-stripping
- Did not clog my pores or break me out
- A little goes a long way
- My skin felt less dehydrated and less oily during the day
- My complexion is clear, and my skin appears less irritated
Cons?
- It does leave the slightest residue (but I wash it well, leave it alone for a minute, and it absorbs and softens my skin. However, this seems to be a con to some people - especially if your sole purpose is to remove your makeup).
- The vitamin C is quite low down on the ingredient list (which is the claim to fame of this product)
- Unsure if there was truly a brightening effect
The verdict?
Yes, I would repurchase this again. However, I am going to explore more balms on this "skin care journey" so I won't be running out to buy this again right away. I tend to get more and picky with the ingredient list of a product as time goes on. I did really enjoy using this, and my skin felt soft (not stripped).
Much love, xo
