Generation Beauty Toronto 2016

Hey guys! I figured I would write up a post about my experience at Generation Beauty by Ipsy and show you some of the swag they hand out. This was my first time ever going to an event like this, let alone any makeup event, so I didn't really know what to expect.

The event was packed full of vendors promoting new product and handing out free samples. There was not as much product for sale as I anticipated (for example NYX had absolutely nothing for sale, whereas other vendors might have a small selection available). I will say one thing - the lineups are long! I went with a great friend who required a wheel chair and the event was beyond accommodating for us. They allowed us right to the front of each line and gave us special access to meet some of her favourite beauty gurus.

The Ipsy ladies were all there, with swarms of people following them. There were meet and greets, but the lines were often closed (only allowing a limited number of people in).

Nudestix was the first booth we stopped at for a quick photo. They were handing out their brand new full size Gel Color Lip + Cheek Balm. They even hand you a chart with all the available colours and you can pick which one you want - I chose Rebel (see below).

Tarte had an amazing campaign going on to help bring awareness to cyber bullying (#kissandmakeup). That's me and Ronni on the right!!

They were also one of the more generous companies, giving out free FULL SIZE items. We got their new Tarteist Lash Paint Mascara and their Powder Player Bamboo Pressed Powder Brush (which is C$41, woo!).

NYX was one of the booths I was really hoping to find those new eyeshadow palettes (the ones similar looking to the Viseart palettes), but they only had a few products on display and nothing for sale! (*insert sad face*). To be honest, it was more about taking selfies and hash tagging yourself in them, than the product itself. They were generous enough to apply some of their new eyeliners to my friend and hand out some goodies - thank you!

Pixi was a ton of fun! They had a photo booth with professional lighting that pumped out hilarious pictures; good memories! I was so excited to get my hands on the Glow Tonic. Ever since they Target left Canada we haven't had access to Pixi products, BUT the representative at the booth whispered a little tid bit of information: They are coming back to Canada, unsure where, but it is in the works!!!!

Another welcoming booth was Make Up For Ever, the staff had such great energy. This one woman, who had been with them for quite some time, gave us a run down of the company history. She seemed so kind and warm; such a nice person. We got colour matched and filled out some surveys on our style preferences - then BAM, we get a customized makeup bag full of makeup! Not sure if I can pull off that bright pink eyeshadow, but thank you!

Smashbox products below! I always wanted to try that primer oil, now is my chance. AND, that is a full size of their hydrating photo finish primer (C$50!!!). This brand let us in right away and helped my friend meet Chrisspy! Such big hearts they have.

This is a terrible picture of me, but I had to add it because Ronni and Chrisspy are so beautiful. She seriously looks airbrushed - even when you are two centimeters from her face. FLAWLESS.

And because I am such an expert at recognizing faces in a crowd (*sarcasm*), I managed to not see any of the YouTubers I follow. Even ones I have seen pictures of online with me standing RIGHT THERE. Fail. So here is the rest of the swag we got at this event. That alone was worth it for someone like me. I did hear that in terms of a networking perspective, this was not what other beauty gurus expected. Regardless, I had a good time - THANK YOU RONNI!

Had to just post a close up of this new InstaReady bronzer by Physicians Formula.

Neat concept... I wonder how effective it is?

I will have to wait until I am not so fair to even attempt to use this.

Anyways, that is all! I can't wait to test out some of these products and do it all again next year!
