Hey everyone, it's time to check out my trash! Here are 6 mini reviews on some products I have recently used up:) I love reviews like this, so I hope you enjoy this. I will try and keep it short, but if you have questions leave a comment below and I promise to get back to you! xoxo
Price: C$24.00
Size: .12 oz (*Sample size shown here)
Pros: I love the adorable packaging! Comes in a twist up lipstick form with a hydrating "outer layer" of clear balm and the pigment runs down the center. It is fragrance free and very moisturizing! It did not tug on my skin which I find some concealers do and it has a silky finish. Contains Vitamin E and apple seed extract.
Cons: The initial application is a bit streaky until you blend the moisturizer with the concealer (however this did not bother me). The finish is shiny. It did settle into fine lines over time, but not horribly. There is a limited shade range (only 3!), which lack in options for very fair and darker complexions. Lastly, I had to apply quite a bit of product to try to cover my dark circles and some darkness still showed through. This brand does test on animals.
The Verdict: I would only repurchase this for the moisturizing properties, my under eyes are so dry and many concealers exacerbate that. However, it did not fully cover my dark circles so I will pass.
Price: C$41.00 (I found it at Winners much cheaper ~$15)
Size: 1.7 oz
Pros: My skin was luminous, clear, supple, refreshed, glowing and very bright. It clears black heads and has instant effects that last. You let the mask dry and it peels off fairly easily. Sloughs away all my dead skin and revitalizes my complexion after a huge run of night shifts! It is an instant fix, and I look forward to using it for that.
Cons: It comes in a jar (most likely not the best to retain freshness and prevent bacteria). The product is messy and slimy. Very acidic smelling (burns your eyes and when you breathe it can even make you cough!). Stings skin. Sounds horrible? I have too further look into the ingredients, but I am toughing it out for the amazing results the product delivers.
The Verdict: I would definitely repurchase!
Price: C$23.00
Size: .27 oz
Pros: In just two coats I see noticeable volume and length. It is literally effortless! Smudge proof, and no transfering to the lid or lower lash line. Easy to remove. Intense black. No clumping. Holds curl. I have not found anything better...Yet haha. AND it is not tested on animals:)
Cons: At the very end of the day I would accidentally rub my eye (my fault, I know) and notice some flakes...Just something to make note of.
The Verdict: YES, I would repurchase.
Price: C$4.96
Size: 142g
Pros: The nozzle did not clog. Good spray. Cheap price point.
Cons: The scent is quite strong (not my type of scent for a hair product). My hair felt a bit thicker and "cakey" - almost as if there was a residue even after I brushed it out. It leaves a white cast (and I have blonde hair and fair skin - so beware!). My hair did not feel clean afterwards or refreshed.
The Verdict: No I would not repurchase... I cannot wait to try other dry shampoos.
Price: C$32.00
Size: 1.35 oz
Pros: Hydrating and very light weight. Absorbs quickly into the skin. Allows for smooth makeup application, and helps with any dry patches. Leaves skin dewy. Never broke me out. Great packaging with a pump, (cut it open at the end to get the rest out)! Full of electrolytes. Cruelty free and vegan.
Cons: On hot summer days (when I was more oily), I found it was not as effective - in that case I only used this on dryer areas of my face. I did not notice an increase in the longevity of my makeup. It did not smooth the texture of my skin. More of a skin prep step rather than ensuring my foundation stays put. Expensive.
The Verdict: Yes I would repurchase, especially for the winter. I would be careful if you have more oily skin.
Price: C$19.00 (*Delux sample shown in photo)
Size: 6.7 oz
Pros: Free of harsh chemicals. Smells delicious - a light and not overpowering vanilla scent. Nice texture (not too thick, not to thin). Non sticky. Absorbs easily into the skin.
Cons: For areas like my feet I will need something a bit more moisturizing.
The Verdict: Neutral. I liked it, and it was nice to try.
